Dr. Susan Shalda Forbes and Dr. Laurie Drake hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and are Board Certified in Audiology by the American Board of Audiology. They are licensed in the state of Ohio by the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. They are Fellows of the American Academy of Audiology (FAAA) and members of the Ohio Academy of Audiology.
Susan Shalda ForbesAu.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Forbes received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Audiology and Speech Science and Master of Arts degree in Audiology from Michigan State University, and her doctorate degree in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences at A.T. Still University. She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at the Toledo Hearing and Speech Center and was supervising audiologist at The Toledo Clinic for eleven years. Dr. Forbes co-founded Hearing Associates, Inc. in 1991 and became sole owner and President in 2001. She has over twenty-eight years experience as a clinical audiologist.
Laurie DrakeAu.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Drake received her Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology from Miami University of Ohio, Master of Science degree in Audiology from Bowling Green State University, and her doctorate degree in Audiology from the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Her specialized area of interest is tinnitus management and she is trained in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy and Neuromonics Tinnitus Treatment for those with severe ringing in the ears. She has over twenty-six years experience in a variety of settings including hospitals, community speech and hearing clinics, ENT offices, and school systems. Dr. Drake joined Hearing Associates, Inc. in 2006.
